Christian Seitz was born in Hamburg, Germany, and attended the Medical University of Hamburg, the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa, and the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, where he received his Medical degree in 1999. He completed his urology residency at the Medical University of Vienna Austria under the direction of Professor Michael Marberger. In 2006 he became Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). From 2007 to 2010 he was Head of the Stone Center and Endourology Unit at Department of Urology in Bolzano, Italy, under the direction of Professor Armin Pycha. In 2008 he graduated with professoral thesis at the Medical University of Vienna. From 2010 to 2013 he implemented the robotic surgery program at St. Johns of God Hospital, Vienna, Austria, under the direction of Professor Paul Schramek. In 2013 Seitz returned to the Department of Urology at the Medical University of Vienna under the direction of Professor Shahrokh Shariat. Seitz is Vice Chairman and Associate Professor of the Department of Urology and Head of the Stone Center and Robotic Program at the Medical University of Vienna. His research interests focus on urolithiasis and urooncology (prostate, renal, and urothelial cancer). He is Member of the German and Austrian working group on urolithiasis and the Austrian working group on laparoscopy and gender medicine and Head of the Austrian working group on diagnostic imaging in urology. He is Member of the European Guideline Panel on Urolithiasis, the European Urolithiasis Society (eULIS), and the International Alliance on Urolithiasis (IAU). He has published >100 papers in national and international journals and presented his research at several international conferences. Also he has been invited for live surgery meetings in multiple occasions. Seitz is a Certified Risk Manager and Academic Expert in health care management (Danube University), court sworn Expert on urology (Austria), and Reviewer of multiple international journals.
