Payam Akhyari

Payam Akhyari achieved his M.D. degree in 2003 from Hannover Medical School. He spent his cardiothoracic surgical residency (2004?2010) at Hannover Medical School, University Hospital of Heidelberg, University Hospital Jena, and Heinrich-Heine University Hospital Düesseldorf. Since 2011, Akhyari has been an Attending Surgeon and Head of Cardiac Surgical Research Group, Heinrich-Heine University Hospital Düesseldorf. His interests are in cardiovascular tissue engineering and degenerative aortic valve disease.
