Tamar Seideman

Tamar Seideman received a B.S. degree (summa cum laude) in 1982 from the Tel-Aviv University, an M.S. degree (summa cum laude) in 1985 from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and a Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) in 1990 from the Weizmann Institute of Science. While in Israel, she was awarded the Tel-Aviv University Award twice, the Feinberg Graduate School Award, the Daniel Brener Award, and the J. F. Kennedy Award. She was awarded twice the Knesset of Israel Award prize and was supported by several student fellowships. Her postdoctoral research at the University of Berkeley was supported by a Chaim Weizmann Postdoctoral Fellowship and by a Fulbright Research Award. In 2003, she joined the Chemistry Department of Northwestern University as a Professor of chemistry, and in 2004, she became a Professor of chemistry and physics. Since 2005, she has been the Chair of the Physical Chemistry Division at Northwestern. Currently she is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Guggenheim Fellow. Her recent awards include a senior A. von Humboldt Award, a Galilei Lectureship, an Emerson Award, and a Weston Fellowship. During the past three years, she received Visiting Professorship Awards from the Technion, Haifa, the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot. She is an Associate Editor of Physical Review Letters, a member of the Editorial Boards of The Journal of Physical Chemistry, the Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, Theoretical Chemistry Accounts, Computer Physics Communications and Physical Chemistry Communications, and a Distinguished member of the Editorial Board of the Open Physical Chemistry Journal.
