Timothy J. Johnson

Timothy J. Johnson received his Ph.D. degree from North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND, USA, in 2004. He received his postdoctoral training at Iowa State University from 2004 to 2007. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota, Saint Paul, Minn, USA. He is mainly interested in emerging and zoonotic infectious enteric diseases, including Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli. His current projects utilize pathogenomic, metagenomic, and transcriptomic approaches towards studying the virulence and multi drug resistance encoding plasmids of these organisms and microbial population shifts in response to enteric infections.
