Fu-Kun Chen

Fu-Kun Chen was born in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1967. He received the B.S. degree from the National Taiwan Ocean University in 1991, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the National Cheng-Kung University in 1993 and 2001, respectively, all in electrical engineering. During 1993–1995, he joined the Chinese Army to be a Lieutenant, and then he worked for Holtek Semiconductor Inc. as an ASIC Design Engineer in 1995–1996, and for Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd., at the GSM/DCS Maintenance Center from 1998 to 2002. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Technology. His main teaching and research fields are speech/audio signal processing, iterative processing (adaptive signal processing, neural network, vector quantization), and data compression. He is a Member of IEEE, IEEE Signal Processing Society, and IEICE.
