Robert M. Burgess

Robert M. Burgess obtained his M.S. degree in biological oceanography in 1990 and Ph.D. degree in chemical oceanography in 1996 both from the University of Rhode Island, USA. He is currently a Research Environmental Scientist at the Atlantic Ecology Division, National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory, United States Environmental Protection Agency. His areas of expertise include understanding pollutant geochemistry and bioavailability in estuarine and marine environments; developing practical tools for identifying the anthropogenic stressors causing environmental impairments; linking environmental research to environmental regulation and protection.
