Adriano holds a Laurea degree in Natural Science, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences, University of Rome and a Ph.D. degree in Veterinary and Animal Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milan. He is a Research Scientist at the European Reference Laboratory for Parasites (EURLP), Istituto Superiore di Sanita, Rome, Italy. He is a Member of the Informal Working Group on Echinococcosis (IWGE) of the WHO. He has specific competencies in the use of the most common instruments and techniques applied to parasitology and molecular epidemiology research. His research activity is focused on helminth forborne diseases at the national and international levels, especially on echinococcosis. He has competencies in the validation of analytical methods in zoonotic parasitic infections in accordance with the quality system (UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005) and the organization of proficiency tests for the detection of zoonotic parasites (Echinococcus spp. and Trichinella spp.; UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010).
