Zhongfan Jia received his Ph.D. degree in polymer chemistry and physics from the Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2007. Then, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Centre for Advanced Macromolecular Design (CAMD), University of New South Wales (UNSW), Kensington, NSW, Australia, with Professor Tom Davis, where he worked on RAFT polymerization for polymer/biomolecules conjugation and biomedical applications. In 2009, he was a UQ Postdoctoral Research Fellow; then, he moved to the University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, and worked with Professor Michael Monteiro at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), Brisbane, QLD, Australia. Jia is currently working on the dendrimer synthesis for vaccine delivery, synthesis of functional polymers and polymer nanostructures for drug and gene delivery, and stem cell applications. Jia has, moreover, authored 44 publications including one book chapter.
