Mona A. El-Bahrawy
Mona A. El-Bahrawy graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Alexandria, Egypt in 1989. She received the M.S. degree from University of Alexandria in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London, UK in 2003. Dr. El-Bahrawy trained in histopathology in the University of Alexandria, Egypt, the Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK and obtained the Membership then the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologist in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Presently, she serves as a Consultant Histopathologist and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College, London, UK. She is mainly specialized in gynaecological pathology and uropathology. Dr. El-Bahrawy is particularly interested in diagnostic and molecular tumour pathology and her diagnostic work, clinical and academic teaching as well as research interests are mainly in the field of cancer. Current projects include the role of inflammatory cytokines in the pathogenesis of epithelial neoplasms and the molecular pathology of borderline ovarian tumours and ovarian malignancies. She is also participating in a number of clinical trials in the UK, mainly in the field of ovarian cancer. Dr. El-Bahrawy is a member of The International Society of Gynaecological Pathologists, British Gynaecologic Cancer Society, British Association of Gynaecological Pathologists, and the Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
