Pradip Bhuyan

Pradip Bhuyan was born in 1951 in the province of Assam, India. He graduated in physics from Gauhati University in 1969 and obtained the M.A. degree in physics with specialization in radiophysics and electronics from the same university in 1971. He worked to earn the Ph.D. degree from 1979 to 1982 at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, and obtained the Ph.D. degree in 1985. He has experience of teaching physics in the undergraduate level for 12 years and in the M.A. level for the 18 years. He served as the Registrar (Executive Head) of the University (2008-2011). His research interests are ionospheric communication and lower atmospheric studies. He was elected to the URSI/COSPAR sponsored International Reference Ionosphere Joint working group from Asia in 2004 and has joined the group since then. Ten Ph.D. and six M.A. students have been awarded their degrees under his supervision.
