Demetrius Porche is a Professor and the Dean of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana School of Nursing. He holds an appointment also at the School of Public Health at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He received his B.S. degree in nursing from Nicholls State University, La, USA, and his M.S. degree of nursing and D.S. degree of nursing from Louisiana State University Medical Center, La, USA. He completed Family Nurse Practitioner postgraduate coursework at Concordia University Wisconsin. Dr. Porche is certified as a Clinical Specialist in Community Health Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Porche was the Associate Editor of the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS for 10 years. He is currently the Chief Editor of the American Journal of Men’s Health. He serves on the Editorial Board of The Journal for Nurse Practitioners. He is currently the national President of the American Assembly for Men in Nursing. Dr. Porche was inducted into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
