John CG Zhao
John CG Zhao received his B.S. degree in applied chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Tongji University, China, in 1992, M.S. degree in organic chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 1995, and Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of Würzburg, Germany, in 1999. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), from 2000 to 2001. Moreover, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor (2001-2002), an Assistant Professor (2002–2007), and an Associate Professor (2007–2011) at the Department of Chemistry, UTSA, and a Visiting Professor at the College of Pharmacy, Jinan University, China (2009). Since 2011, he has been a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In addition, he is an Editorial Board Member of the E-Journal of Chemistry (Hindawi Publisher), The Open Catalysis Journal (Bentham Publisher), and The Open Natural Products Journal (Bentham Publisher). He is an Associate Editor of Organic Reactions (John Wiley), Volume 61, 2002, and Volume 69, 2007. His research areas include asymmetric synthesis and catalysis, organophosphorus chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and new synthetic methodology developments.
