Chi Chung Ko received his first degree with first class honours in electrical engineering from Loughborough University of Technology in the United Kingdom in 1978. In 1981, working under a research studentship in the area of adaptive array processing, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from the same university. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, National University of Singapore, in 1982, and is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was also the Deputy Head of Research of the Department and is now the Deputy Director of the B Tech Programme of the Faculty of Engineering. He has been carrying out research and development work in areas that involve the use of advanced signal processing, communication, and networking techniques and in Internet experimentation systems. He has received the IREE Norman Hayes Paper Award in 1990, the MINDEF-NUS Joint R&D Award in 1995, the Best Paper Award in the International ICSC Symposium on Multi-Agents and Mobile Agents in Virtual Organizations and E-Commerce in 2000, and the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award in 2001. He has served on the editorial boards of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and the IEEE Transactions on Antenna and Propagation. Currently, he is serving as an Editor for the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, as well as the ETRI Journal.
