Hua Yong received a Ph.D. degree in psychology from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Vic, Australia, and an M.S. degree in clinical psychology from the University of New South Wales, Kensington, NSW, Australia. Currently, Yong serves as a Senior Behavioural Scientist at Cancer Council Victoria, Australia. Yong published over 50 papers primarily in the area of tobacco control and 15 H-index. Yong's main research area of interest includes understanding the impact of tobacco product packaging and labeling, evaluating the effectiveness of tobacco control policies in low- and middle-income countries, understanding the psychosocial and cultural factors influencing smoking cessation, and the determinants of smoking relapse. Yong's area of expertise is in population-based cohort survey methodology and structural equation modeling techniques.
