Graham Mount was born in Adelaide, South Australia and educated there, in New Zealand, and in Sydney, where he has got his B.D.S. degree in 1945. Mount returned to Adelaide and entered private practice that year. Over the next 50 years, he tutored and lectured at the Dental School in Adelaide for 35 years and subsequently became a Visiting Research Fellow of that institution. In 1986, he became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Moreover, in 1992, he has got his D.D.S. degree for research into the glass-ionomer cements. Mount's special interests in later years have been the glass-ionomers and minimal intervention dentistry. In addition, he has had over 150 scientific papers published and lectured extensively around the world; now he has two text books published in his name, An Atlas of Glass-Ionomer Cements and Preservation and Restoration of Tooth Structure; the latter was in conjunction with professor W. R. Hume.
