Alexandre Souto Martinez

Alexandre Souto Martinez received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in physics from the Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble I, France in 1993. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in physics at the University of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland in 1996 and at the National Institute of Space Science, Brazil in 1998. Since 1998, he is working at the University of São Paulo, and, since 2005, he is an Associate Professor. His research interests include scattering of light in the atmosphere, simple and multiple scattering of light, and methods of stochastic optimization and complex system.
