Kosmas A. Kavadias
Kosmas A. Kavadias holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Piraeus, Greece (1998). He obtained his M.S. degree from the Joint Course of the National Technological University of Athens and the University of Piraeus in Greece, in the field of energy management and environmental protection (2003), while he is currently conducting his Ph.D. research at the University of Ioannina in Greece. He belongs to the academic staff of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the TEI of Piraeus, being assigned with the responsibility of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of renewable energy sources, applications of renewable energy, energy mechanics and management of natural resources, and waste management systems. He heads the Soft Energy Applications and Environmental Protection Laboratory of the TEI of Piraeus concerning Academic Issues. He has participated as a Lecturer in Education and Initial Vocational Training programs in the field of renewable energy and hybrid energy systems. His research interests include optimization of hybrid energy systems, design of stand-alone energy systems based on renewable energy sources, wind-hydroenergy production systems, evaluation of energy storage systems, and optimum management of autonomous energy systems. He has participated as a Member of the main research team in numerous research projects and research proposals. He has also participated in the publication of more than twenty papers in international peer-reviewed journals and in more than seventy papers published in proceedings of national and international conferences, with his work being credited by more than 140 citations. His research consistence is also supported by his role as a Reviewer in international energy journals.
