Csaba Farsang
Csaba Farsang has been affiliated to the Second Department of Internal Medicine, Medical Faculty, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary (1967–1989). From 1990 to 2003, he had been the Medical Director and Head of the First Department of Internal Medicine of the St. Imre Teaching Hospital, Budapest, Hungary. From 2003 to 2007, he had been the Head of the First Department of Internal Medicine, Medical Faculty, Semmelweis University. Since 2007, he had been the Head of the Cardiometabolic Centre in St. Imre Teaching Hospital, Budapest. In 1967, he receicved his M.D. degree from Semmelweis University Medical School. Moreover, he received his Ph.D. degree in 1978, and his D.S. degree in 1984 from the Hungarian National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Farsang specialized in internal medicine (1972), clinical pharmacology (1980), nephrology (1984), hypertension (1998), angiology (1999), and lipidology (2003). He has memberships in the International Society of Hypertension, the European Society of Hypertension (Member of the Educational Committee), the European Society of Cardiology, the International Society of Heart Research, and the International Society of Angiology. In addition, he is a Member of several Hungarian Societies, such as Hypertension (Honorary Lifetime President), Cardiology, Angiology, Nephrology, Internal Medicine, and Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology (Past President). He published about 57 books/chapters and 226 papers.
