Hirokazu Kimura graduated from School of Medical Technology, Gunma University, Gunma, Japan, in March 1984. In March 1994, he graduated from Faculty of Biochemical Engineering, Gunma University, Gunma, Japan. In March 1999 he received his Ph.D. degree from Graduate School of Biochemical Engineering, Gunma University. He served as a Research Group Reader in Gunma Prefectural Institute of Public Health from 2000 to 2006. Moreover, he served as the Head of Viral Laboratory Training Division, Infectious Disease Surveillance Center, National Institute of Infectious Diseases. Since 2010, he has been working as a Guest Professor, School of Medicine, Yokohama City University, Kanagawa, Japan. He has participated in the publication of 155 peer reviewed English research papers and 10 review papers. His area of specialization includes virology, molecular biology, and biological defense system.
