Dr. Kandpal has earned a PhD in Biochemistry. His current research is focused on aberrant signal transduction in breast carcinoma cells. His laboratory is studying Eph receptors, the largest family of receptor tyrosine kinases, in breast and prostate cancers. These investigations include miRNA biogenesis, epigenetic regulation of receptors, interaction between receptors, and association of Eph receptors with other cell adhesion molecules such as cadherins.
