Janika Kõrv, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Tartu, Estonia, in 1987. In 1998, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on stroke epidemiology. Currently, she works as a Neurologist at Tartu University Hospital and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, University of Tartu, Estonia. She serves as a Fellow of the European Stroke Organization (ESO), as a Leader of the Stroke Working Group at the Estonian L. Puusepp Society of Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, and as the National Delegate of Estonia at the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS). Her main scientific interest is stroke. She has been involved in international clinical trials of stroke and has been the main author of the Estonian Stroke Guideline.
