Stephen J. Glatt, holder of Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of psychiatry and behavioral Sciences and of neuroscience and physiology, an Associate Director of medical genetics research, Associate Director of psychiatry research, and Director of the Psychiatric Genetic Epidemiology and Neurobiology Laboratory (PsychGENe Lab) at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, USA. Dr. Glatt is the Principal Investigator on an Independent Investigator Award from NARSAD: The Brain and Behavior Research Fund and was recently awarded NARSAD's Sidney R. Baer, Jr. Prize for Schizophrenia Research. Dr. Glatt is also the Principal Investigator on a Schizophrenia Research Project Grant (R01) and a research grant from the Gerber Foudnation. Dr. Glatt is also a coinvestigator or consultant on numerous grants from the US National Institutes of Health which are focused on identifying the nature and causes of mental disorders. In particular, Dr. Glatt is working primarily on candidate-gene and genome-wide association, linkage, gene expression, and functional genomic studies of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, heroin dependence, and other substance use disorders. Dr. Glatt is an author of over 80 journal articles, invited manuscripts, and book chapters and has been invited to present his work in numerous national and international forums. Dr. Glatt is on the editorial board of Neuropsychiatric Genetics and serves as an Ad Hoc Reviewer for many of the top journals in the field of psychiatry, including Archives of General Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, and Biological Psychiatry. In addition, he serves as an Editor-at-Large for methodology and statistics for the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
