Motohide Shimazu

Motohide Shimazu received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, in 1974 and 1984, respectively. From 1974 to 1980, he was a Resident at the Department of Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He served as a Staff Surgeon at Saitama National Hospital in 1980–1983, Instructor at the Department of Surgery, Fijita Health University, Aichi, Japan, in 1983–1985, Assistant Professor at the same department in 1985–1992, Chief of the Liver Transplant Service, Department of Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine in 1992–1996, Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery, Keio University School of Medicine in 1996–2005, Associate Professor at the same department in 2005-2006, and Professor of surgery at the Hachioji Medical Center, Tokyo Medical University, Tokyo, Japan since 2006. Shimazu was granted the Medical Practitioners Licensure in Japan in 1974. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and an Ad Hoc Reviewer of Liver Transplantation, Surgery Today, Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
