Murat Gokden
0000-0001-5275-1672Murat Gokden is a Professor of pathology and Director of neuropathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Little Rock, Ark, USA. He received his M.D. degree in 1986 from Dokuz Eylul University Medical School, Izmir, Turkey, followed by residency training in pathology at the same institution. He completed a combined anatomic pathology and neuropathology training in 1998 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo, USA. It was followed by fellowship trainings in surgical/oncologic pathology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Tex and cytopathology at UAMS. After completing his training in 2000, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at UAMS, where has been in the faculty since then. He is board-certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology, neuropathology, and cytopathology and is heavily involved in diagnostic pathology, teaching, and clinical research. He has authored and coauthored a number of publications, and he is an active member of the American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP) and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and an active participant of their meetings with presentations and committee services. His research interests involve diagnostic features of diseases, diagnostic methods, and translational research in pathology, with emphasis on neuropathology and oncologic pathology, especially brain neoplasms.
