Djamel Ouinas was born on June 5, 1974 in Mostaganem, Algeria. He is the father of three children, one girl and two boys. He graduated from the Mechanical Construction Department and obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science from University of Mostaganem, Mostaganem, Algeria, respectively in 2002 and 2005. In December 2001, he worked as a Full Professor at the University of Sidi Belabbes, Sidi Belabbes, Algeria, and received accreditation to supervise research in 2006. Ouinas is currently lecturing in finite element method, numerical methods, fracture mechanics, composite materials, computer assisted design, and physics at the University of Mostaganem. Since 2001, he has been a Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, advising master thesis and supervising doctorate thesis. Moreover, Ouinas is the author of many international scientific publications and books. In his research activity, he had the occasion to direct several ministry research projects, and he is currently the Head of the Numerical and Experimental Modeling of Mechanical Phenomena Laboratory, which is composed of six teams of research. He is interested in the theoretical and practical aspects of modeling and industrial applications and evaluated several research projects of the National Research Program (NRP). Ouinas is also a reviewer in several reviews such as Computational Material Science, Materials and Design, Composites Part B, International Journal of Solids and Structures, Composites Part A, Journal of Composite Materials, International Journal of Damage Mechanics, Journal of Thermoplastic Composite Materials, Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, and Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites.
