Aldo Corsetti

Aldo Corsetti is Associate Professor of Microbiology (AGR/16) at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Teramo, member of the teaching body of the PhD course in Food Science, reference person for the Erasmus program of the Faculty of Agriculture at the same University. He graduated in Agricultural Science at the University of Perugia, where he also took the degree of Doctor of Research (Ph. D.) in Food Biotechnology. He was member of the teaching body of the International PhD Italy - Ireland "Biotechnology of lactic acid bacteria: genetic engineering and enzymology". He frequently teaches in Masters on Food Biotechnology and he is member of the teaching and scientific commettee of different Masters and courses. During the last five years he has been the scientific coordinator of projects financed by Italian Ministries (MIPAF and MIUR), Agro-food industries as well as by the University of Teramo. He carries out his researches on physiological characterization and molecular typing of lactic acid bacteria, on their involvement in fermented food production and preservation, and on their identification in foods by using culture-dependent and culture-independent methods. He is Associate Editor of “Frontiers in Food Microbiology” and member of the Editorial Board of "International Journal of Food Microbiology - IJFM" and "The Open Bioactive Compounds Journal". He frequently acts as a referee for articles to be published in international journals of food microbiology. He participates as a speaker at Italian and international Congresses. He is author and co-author of more than 140 articles, most of them published in international journals reviewed by ISI (Institute for Scientific Information of Philadelphia
