Sebastian San Martin

Sebastián San Martín was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1975. He received the Obstetrician degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Chile and University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1998 and 2003, respectively. In 2007, he was a Research Fellow at the Placenta Lab from Friedrich-Schiller Universitat, Jena, Germany. Since 2003, S. San Martín is Associate Professor of the School of Medicine of Universidad de Valparaíso. Presently, he is Director of Reproductive Biology Research Centre, with several activities related to generation of meetings, clinical services, students training and research. He is mainly interested in embryo implantation and develops of placenta in mammals in normal and pathological condition during the pregnancy. In 2003 and 2007, he was recipient to Fellow Research of the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo-FAPESP, Brazil and Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, Germany. The Dr. San Martin has several international collaboration that promote professor and students interchanges.
