David Morales Morales carried out his BSc (1992) and MSc (1995) studies at the Chemistry School of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico and his PhD at the University of Essex, UK (1998). After a three year postdoctoral period at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he returns to México to the Instituto de Química on May 2001, where he starts his independent research. His research interests cover the the organometallic and coordination chemistry of platinum group metals and its further application in metal mediated organic synthesis and catalysis, the Chemistry of Pincer Compounds and Green Chemistry. Prof. Morales-Morales scientific production includes more than 100 papers and reviews as well as 6 chapters in different books, including one in the book “The Chemistry of the Pincer Compounds” (Elsevier) of which Prof. Morales-Morales was the Editor, publications that have produce him more than 2000 citations to reach and h index of 22. He also performs continuously reviewer activities for manuscripts of journals from: Elsevier, ACS, RSC, ARKAT, USA, Inc., Bentham, Wiley-VCH, SBQ, as well as research proposals from different financial organisms such as: Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y tecnología-CONACYT (México), Petroleum Research Fund-PRF (USA), National Science Foundation-NSF (USA), Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico-FONDECYT (Chile), Czech Science Foundation (GA CR), ECOS-CONACYT (France-Mexico) and ECOS-FONDECYT (France-Chile). Prof. Morales-Morales has presented over 50 plenary and invited conferences in Europe, USA and Asia. He is part of the Editorial Board of referees for ARKIVOC, of the International Advisory Board of the Journal ChemCatChem (Wiley-VCH), ISRN Organic Chemistry (Hindawi Publishing Co.), The Open Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (OJIC, SCIRP), Organic Chemistry: Current Research Journal (OMICS), Advances in Chemistry (Hindawi Publishing Co.) and part of the International Advisory Board of the Homogeneous Catalysis Symposia.
