Judith N. Torimiro

Judith N. Torimiro works as a Senior Lecturer of molecular biology at the Faculty of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaounde I, Yaounde, Cameroon. She is also Chief of Scientific Secretariat and Head of Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre (CIRCB), Yaounde, Cameroon. She received a Postdoctoral Diploma in disease control, prevention, and epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md, USA, in 2005, a Ph.D. degree in infectious and tropical diseases from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, London, UK in 2004, the Diploma of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (DLSHTM), London, UK, in 2004, an M.S. degree in applied molecular biology of infectious diseases from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, London, UK, in 1999, and an M.S. degree in chemical pathology from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1991. Torimiro's research interests are diagnosis of viral infections: HIV-1, HIV-2, HBV, HCV, GBV-C, and HPV; studies of resistance to antiviral drugs against HIV, HBV, and HCV; studies of virus dynamics and evolution; studies of host-viral pathogen interactions and disease progression and identification of new drug targets; clinical trials of antiviral drug.
