Zui Pan received her B.S. degree from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree from Institute of Biophysics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA. Dr. Pan moved to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical, NJ, USA, as an Assistant Professor of physiology and biophysics in 2001 and then joined Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute at the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, as an Associate Professor of internal medicine in 2012. Her research interest is focused on calcium signaling in muscle and cardiovascular diseases and cancer biology. She is also interested in developing new optical microscopy imaging techniques and had been serving as Director of Confocal Microscopy and Cell Imaging Core at RWJMS for 7 years. Dr. Pan holds 2 patents and more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals, such as Nature and Nature Cell Biology. She has been serving as ad hoc Reviewer for NIH study section (2004 and 2013), for North Carolina Biotechnology Center IDG Program (2008 till present), and for journals such as Cancer Biology and Therapy, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biophysical Journal, Cell Calcium, Cell Research, Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, Cell Death and Differentiation, and Frontier Bioscience.
