Li Li is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics at Cornell University. She is also a USDA-ARS Research Molecular Biologist (Plant) at the Robert W. Holley Center for Agriculture and Health on the Cornell campus in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Li received her Ph.D. degree in plant physiology and biochemistry from the University of Reading in England. Her research interests are in novel gene discovery and elucidation of the molecular and biochemical mechanisms underlying phytonutrient and micronutrient metabolism, as well as plant biotechnology for improving the nutritional quality and health-promoting properties of food crops. Dr. Li's current research focuses primarily on carotenoid and anthocyanin biosynthesis as well as selenium metabolism in plants.
