Daniel E. Bassi

Daniel E. Bassi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1963. He earned his M.S. degree in chemistry in 1989, his M.S. degree in clinical pathology in 1994, and his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1996 from the University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1998, he joined the Fox Chase Cancer Center as a Postdoctoral Associate, to research in the area of proprotein convertases and skin tumor progression, utilizing transgenic mouse models. More recently, as an Assistant Research Professor, he expanded his research interest to include the role of proprotein convertases in stromal-epithelial interactions. He also teaches medicinal chemistry and Structure-Activity Relationships at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He has served the Canadian Breast Cancer Association and the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition as a Grant Reviewer. He is also a Member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Chemical Society.
