Ettore Biagi

Ettore Biagi has obtained the M.D. degree in 1995. He is the Director of the Laboratory of Cell and Gene Therapy “Stefano Verri”, at the San Gerardo Hospital, Monza (Milan, Italy), since 2006. Since 2005, after completing the specialty in Pediatrics, he has been a Medical Assistant and an Academic Researcher at the Pediatric Department in Monza, University of Milano-Bicocca. He is now a Professor of medicine and medical biotechnology at the University of Milano-Bicocca. He received a Research Doctorate degree in pediatric hematology-oncology in 2000, after attending as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Tex, USA). He received several national prizes as best young researcher particularly in the field of translational medicine for application of novel cell and gene therapy products for the treatment of oncologic and degenerative diseases in childhood. He published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field of leukemia cell and gene immunotherapy and regularly reviews grant applications through all European countries and papers submitted for scientific journals in the field of cell and gene therapy.
