Kazuhiro Takahashi graduated from Tohoku University School of Medicine, Sendai, Japan, with an M.D. degree in 1983. He was a resident at Takeda General Hospital, Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, between 1983 and 1985. He served as a Research Fellow at Tohoku University School of Medicine (1985–1988) and the Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Postgraduate School, London, UK (1988–1990). In 1991, Takahashi aquaired his Ph.D. degree. Between 1992 and 1996, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Tohoku University School of Medicine and a lecturer at Tohoku University School of Medicine (1996–1998). Moreover, he held the position of an Associate Professor at Tohoku University School of Medicine from 1998 to 2005. During 2005, he was a Professor at Tohoku University School of Medicine. In addition, he gained many awards such as the Research Award from The Japan Endocrine Society in 2002. Dr. Takahashi's research interests include endocrinology (neuroendocrinology and cardiovascular endocrinology) and molecular biology of bioactive substances in the brain.
