Vinod Scaria

CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, India

Dr. Vinod Scaria is a Scientist of GN RAmachandran Knowledge Center for Genome Informatics, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, India. Dr. Vinod Scaria is a Scientist at the CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), India working in the area of Genome Informatics. His lab focusses on understanding the biology and function of noncoding RNAs, through integrative analyses of genome-scale datasets. His laboratory pioneered the study of epigenetic regulation of long noncoding RNAs and genome-wide analyses of long noncoding RNA processing and interaction of long noncoding RNAs with regulatory RNAs like microRNAs. His lab also leads efforts on deep functional annotation of genomes and extensive omics data integration using a crowd-sourcing approach on social networks extensively using cloud computing. His lab also hosts many well cited genome informatics resources for Zebrafish, Mycobacterium and other genomes and also a number of tools to understand noncoding RNA biology. He is an editorial board member and reviewer to many International Journals. More about his laboratory could be found at http://vinodscaria.rnabiology.org.
