Youngbin Yoon is working as a Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. His research interests are in liquid rocket engine injectors, combustion dynamics in gas turbine and ramjet engines, low emission combustor, turbulent diffusion flames, and laser diagnostics. Yoon has a Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering, June 1994, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, an M.S.A.E. degree, February 1987, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, and a B.S.A.E., February 1985. He has received the Young Investigator Award, Asian Pacific Conference on Combustion (1999), the Best Project Award of Electric Power Technology Fundamental Research, Korea Electrical Engineering & Science Research Institute (1999), the Best Paper Award, Korea Aerospace Industry, Ltd. (2003), the Best Poster Award, The Korean Society for Aeronautical & Space Sciences (2003), the Best Paper Award, The Korean Society of Propulsion Engineers (2006), the Sinyang Engineering Academic Award, Sinyang Cultural Foundation (2007), the Younsong Academic Award, ILASS-KOREA (2007), the Best Paper Award, The Korean Society of Propulsion Engineers (2008), the Academic Award, The Korean Society of Propulsion Engineers (2009), the Best Award of Scientific and Technological Papers, The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (2009), the Best Paper Award, Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. (2009), and the Best Paper Award at Korea Power Industry Conference, Korea Electric Power Corporation (2009).
