Siamak Bidel

Siamak Bidel was born in Iran in 1962. He graduated from Don Bosco Colleage (Andisheh), Tehran, Iran. He received his M.D. degree in 1994 and internal medicine specialty later on. He moved to Helsinki Finland from 1998 and started to work as a Research Fellow at Helsinki University Central Hospital and Biomidicum. Since 2003, he has been working with the Diabetes Prevention Unit, National Institute for Health and Welfare, and Department of Public Health, the University of Helsinki. Meanwhile, he completed his Ph.D. degree as well. Presently, he is working as a Senior Researcher. He is mainly interested in diabetes, type 2 diabetes, the prevention of diabetes and its complications, nutrition and diabetes (particularly coffee and diabetes), lifestyle and diabetes, cancer and nutrition, cancer and lifestyle, and nutrition and physical activity in the prevention of chronic disease. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of several medical journals and a Reviewer for many high-ranked journals such as JAMA and BJN. He is a Member of the Finnish Diabetes Association, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, and several others.
