Ernesto Liñan-García has a Ph.D. degree in computer science, M.S. degree in computer systems, and Electronic Systems Engineering degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Monterrey, NL, Mexico. He is a Full Research Professor in computer science at University of Coahuila, COAH, Mexico. His research area is metaheuristics applied to NP-hard problems, protein folding problems, DNA alignment sequences, and vehicle routing problems.
