Rajendra Acharya U

Rajendra Acharya U, Ph.D., D.Eng., is a Visiting Faculty Member in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. He received his Ph.D. degree from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India, in 2001 and the D.Eng. degree from Chiba University, Japan, in 2008. He has published more than 125 papers in refereed international journals, international conference proceedings, and books over the last years. Currently, he works in the editorial board of the following journals: Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics, Open Access Medical Informatics Journal, Open Access Artificial Intelligence Journal, Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, and Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology and Biomedical Imaging, and Intervention Journal. He served as a Guest Editor for many journals. He has won the Teaching Award and Staff Excellence Award in 2003 and 2007, respectively, in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. His major interests are signal processing, image processing, data mining, visualization and biophysics for better healthcare design, delivery, and therapy. He is a Fellow of IETE and Senior IEEE member.
