Vijay Bokade

Vijay V. Bokade obtained a Ph.D. degree (tech.) in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology (formally UDCT), University of Mumbai, India. He worked as an IUSSTF Research Fellow at the Michigan State University, USA. So far, he has 50 research papers to his credit and also the inventor of 10 Patents. He also presented his work in various academic and industrial conferences and symposia in India and abroad. His area of expertise includes heterogeneous catalysis and alternative fuels such as biodiesel, biolubricant, bioethanol, and so forth. He is also involved in the biomass pretreatment, lignin extraction, and catalytic conversion of biomass to value added chemicals. He is the recipient of NCL Research Foundation Director Commendation Award (2009), Indo-US Research Fellowship (2011), and Sisir Kumar Mitra and NRC Awards of IIChE, India (2011). Presently, He has been working as a Scientist at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, for the last 17 years.
