J. Carlos Diez
J. Carlos Diez was born in San Sebastian, Spain, in 1962. He received the Physics degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza (UZ), Zaragoza, Spain, in 1984 and 1991, respectively. From 1985 to 1989, Diez was a Research Fellow at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Spain. From 1989 to 2000, he was an Assistant Professor of UZ. In 1991-1992, Diez was a Research Fellow at the ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Presentely, he is a Tenured Professor at UZ. He is mainly interested in ceramic superconductors (BSCCO) and ceramics with improved thermoelectrical properties. He is also interested in laser interaction with materials, mainly in the directionally grown from the melt and ablation processes. Diez is a Member of the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Aragón (UZ-CSIC) and President of the Basic Science Section of the Spanish Ceramic Society. He also serves as a Member of the Editorial Board Committee of the Boletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio.
