Haiming Lu

Haiming Lu, born in February 1980, earned his Ph.D. degree from Jilin University in 2006. His doctoral dissertation was awarded as the Top 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in 2010 and the Jilin Provincial Excellent Ph.D. Dissertation in 2009. From January 2007 to January 2010, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanjing University. After that, he became an Associate Professor at the Department of Material Science and Engineering of Nanjing University. In 2011, he received an honor as one of the New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education. Until now, he has published 46 scientific papers (including 1 article in Physical Review Letters and 1 review in Surface Science Reports), which have been cited for more than 300 times. His achievements also include 2 patents, a First Prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, a Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ministry of Education, and being an editorial member of two books. Based on thermodynamic calculations and computer simulations, he has studied the different kinds of interface energies, cohesive energies, and size‐, shape‐, and dimensionality‐dependent thermodynamic, and physical parameters. And he has achieved series of progress in phase transition of nanocrystalline such as melting, condensing, and solid‐state phase transition. More than 10 projects he has contributed are as follows: National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education for New Century Excellent Talents Scheme, Ministry of Education of the Fund of New Teachers, Higher National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Special, Jiangsu Province Natural Science Foundation, The First Batch of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Funded Projects, two subprojects of 973 projects (one finished), and so forth.
