Thomas John Owens
Thomas John Owens obtained his Ph.D. degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, in 1986. He was appointed to Brunel University, London, UK, in 1987 as a Lecturer in electronic engineering then became Senior Lecturer Communications at the School of Engineering and Design in 2004, where he is currently the Director of Quality Assurance for Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Dr. Owens has over 100 publications in journals, conference proceedings, and edited books. Currently, his particular interests lie in the fields of wireless communications, security, and access services on digital television. He was the Project Coordinator of the European Commission IST FP5 STREP Project CONFLUENT, the IST FP6 Integrated Project INSTINCT, and of the FP6 SSA Project PARTAKE and the Project Manager of the IST PSP Project DTV4All.
