Martin Möckel received his Ph.D. degree in 2001. He is a Professor at the Division of Emergency Medicine and Department of Cardiology, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin, Germany. He also worked at the Department of Cardiology, German Heart Institute Berlin (2000-2001) and at the Charité as a Consultant and a Chief (since 2001). He carries a number of clinical qualifications such as Board Certification for Emergency Medicine (1995), Board Certification for Internal Medicine (1998), Board Certification for Special Internal Intensive Care Medicine (2000), Board Certification for Nephrology (2001), and Board Certification for Cardiology (2003). His areas of interest are biomarkers in cardiology, cardiorenal syndrome, workflow and strategies at the emergency department, diagnostic strategies and fast response teams in emergency medicine, and interventional therapy of acute myocardial infarction.
