Offer Amir was born in Haifa, Israel, in 1964.He got his M.D. in Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheba, Israel in 1989. He completed Internal Medicine residency in University of Texas at Texas Medical Center and served as Chief Medical Resident. After his cardiology fellowship in Lady Davis Carmel medical Center, Haifa, Israel, he completed fellowship in Heart Failure/Heart Transplant Program, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Heart Institute at Houston. Currently Offer Amir is the director of the Heart Failure Service in Lady Davis Carmel Medical Center, Haifa, Israel. Since 2009 he is Clinical Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, TECHNION- Israeli Institute of technology. In 2011 he was elected as Chairman of the National Israeli Society of Heart Failure. The Main focus of his research is clinical, metabolic and genetic aspects in Heart Failure patients.
