Massimo Clementi, Professor of Microbiology and Virology of the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan (Italy), is Director of the Laboratory of Microbiology and Virology of the San Raffaele Hospital and Director of the Post-graduate School in Microbiology and Virology. From June 2010 to present, Massimo Clementi is the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan (Italy). The research activity of Massimo Clementi has addressed several topics of the medical virology and medical microbiology, including the development of molecular procedures in diagnostic virology, the analysis of the virus-host relationships, the intra-host virus evolution, the study of emerging viral diseases, and, more recently, the dissection of the antibody response to persistent and acute viral infection. At present Massimo Clementi is author of more than 250 scientific papers on international scientific journals, 10 invited review articles, 3 books of microbiology for medical students and 12 international biotechnological patents.
