Nuno P. Mira
Nuno P. Mira graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal, specializing in chemistry (biochemistry profile) and went on and obtained the Ph.D. degree in biotechnology from the same place with the title “Adaptation and resistance to weak acid food preservatives in Saccharomyces cerevisiae: the Haa1p- and the Rim101-signalling pathways.” From 2011 to present, he works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Bioengineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal. From 2008–2011, he served as a Postdoc Researcher at the Biological Sciences Research Group working on research project Microbial Response to Stress Unveiled by Genomewide Postgenomic Approaches. His main areas of scientific activity are physiology and molecular biology of the yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Zygosaccharomyces bailii, and Candida glabrata: functional studies guided by genomewide approaches; transcriptomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics.
