Hyeon Joo Jeong

Hyeon Joo Jeong was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1956. She received the M.D. and the Ph.D. degrees from the Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1981 and 1987, respectively. She finished her residency and fellowship in anatomic pathology from 1982 to 1988. Since 1988, she is working as a Staff at the Department of Pathology, Yonsei University, Seoul. From 1990 to 1992, she served as a Research Fellow at the Department of Pathology, Brigham, and Womens’ Hospital in Boston, USA. She studied transplantation pathology in Pathology Institute in Basel University, Basel, Switzerland, in 1992. Presently, she works as a Professor. She is mainly interested in renal pathology and transplant pathology, especially IgA nephropathy, posttransplant glomerulonephritis, polyomavirus infection, and transplant glomerulopathy. She is serving as the Head of the Department since 2008. She is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Korean Society of Pathologists and the Korean Society of Transplantation. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of Korean Journal of Pathology.
