Alessia Le Donne was born in 1975. She got the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science from the University of Milan‐Bicocca, Milan, Italy, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Since 2005, she held six postdoctoral positions. From a general point of view, her research activity was devoted to the study of the effect of defects (impurities and point and extended defects) on the structural, electrical, and optical properties of semiconductors (silicon and silicon carbide), minerals, and gems (cyclosilicate and corundum). In the last years, her activity has been mainly focused on the study of photovoltaic materials and devices (first and second generations of solar cells). She has coauthored 43 peer‐reviewed papers, 1 book chapter, and more than 60 contributions at national or international scientific conferences. Since 2001, she has been involved in several European and national projects. She serves as a Peer Reviewer for international scientific journals, such as Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, Progress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Journal of Physical Chemistry, and Applied Surface Science. She is an Associate Editor of the international journals Reviews in Advanced Sciences and Engineering and Materials Focus. She is also a Member of the editorial boards of the Conference Papers in Energy and the Indian Journal of Materials Science.
