James S. Albert works as a Systematic Ichthyologist with more than 20 years of experience collecting fishes in remote areas of the tropics. To date, with colleagues Albert has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications with descriptions of over 50 species, five genera, and six subfamilies. Albert serves as a Coeditor with Dr. Roberto Reis of Historical Biogeography of Neotropical Freshwater Fishes (UC Press, 2011), which explores the evolutionary forces underlying the formation of the Amazon fish fauna.
